I have plenty of memories from Summer '06. Here are a few:
Watching for shooting stars with the cousins, lounging on the rubber rafts, the island's 1st annual pancake extravaganza, playing cards night after night with three generations, the dark walks home by flashlight after the card games, screaming when a bird flew into my neck one night during one of those walks, fires on the beach, slow boat rides home by moonlight, teaching the kids how to drive the boat, good old-fashioned fun at the Weirs, coffee on the dock in the morning, watching my kids take to kayaking, the sound of the water slapping the shore right outside my bedroom window, the latter half of August - cold and rainy outside but warm and toasty inside with the woodstove, some comfy chairs and a few good books.
