It is definitely a New England thing. Steak tips are made from a cheap cut of meat. Yankees never want to waste anything, so they figured out a way to sell it. I remember that they had them at the Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus, Massachusetts. I’m not really a meat eater anymore, and I thought that they were an old-time thing, but I guess they’re still being enjoyed all around the lakes region.
