I think a lot of the newer boaters purchased their boats during covid and still have a lot to learn. We seldom go out without seeing multiple boats breaking the rules, especially on weekends. The rental boats, most that are easily identified by their markings, like unit numbers, are a big part of the problem.

Last Saturday was especially busy and we discussed trying to boat mostly on weekdays when the lake is a lot quieter. I know not everyone is able to do that, it is one of the (few) benefits of being old!
Yes, it would. I think a few stops and people would get the message. Yes, I also think a lot of the violations are out of ignorance except maybe the No Wake rule. Many seem to obey that if they think MP is watching. But where is the common sense for some people too? Don't they know kids could slide off the back of a boat in a sudden stop when it's towing a tube or skier? They just don't think I guess. I agree, rentals are a big part of the problem too. Jet skis seem to be terrible this year.
