I don't use an app for use while boating, although I check the radar on the PC before heading out if the forecast suggests showers are possible. I use multiple sources for longer predictions, days out. Consistency in predictions across sites gives some confidence in those forecasts. I'm more interested in predictions for planning hikes, and in particular the mountain-specific predictions. Conditions up top can be drastically different from what predictions for surrounding low-level indicate. I do like the 10-day Wunderground predictions for their graphical presentation. In particular, the blue shaded chance of precipitation curve for a day can tell me if the day will be generally wet. On the other hand, a sharp spike in that curve for late in the day may mean the expected passage of a front, perhaps with t-storms, while most of the day will be rain-free.
