The lake north of Moultonboro bay iced in on Friday night. Saturday, the snow came and put about 3" on top. Sunday, the snow absorbed water and by the end of the day, the ice was gray and soft, about 1" thick. Freezing rain is falling as I write this on New Year's Day morning. The ice looks like its holding up to the rain, but we'll see. The forecast is calling for above normal temperatures for the first 10 days of January.
