Because the Weirs Channel is open water and the lake is now almost completely covered with ice, the eagle(s) will be flying over the channel looking for a fish or two to eat. They are fairly common in the morning over the channel at this time of year. Mostly bald eagles with a golden eagle from time to time. They also make visits in the summer, but most people in the channel are looking at the other "sights"

and most people do not look up

.
It is always a great to see the eagles and worth a visit to the channel during the winter.
