We are avid cachers and have been pleased with the variety in the lakes region. We have placed 5 caches in the Moultonboro, Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro area. There are approximately a dozen on the Castle property. Lots of areas to make short hikes. There are four caches on Winni's islands. Regarding groups, there are many cachers in the lakes region. Several months ago they had a group geo-event to honor the passing of a fellow geocacher. It was held at Gilligans in Moultonboro. There is also an even larger group in the Concord area. If you go on the website geocaching.com, they usually list upcoming geo-events. Go to one and meet some nice folks who have a common hobby.
