You can't put a geocache on private land without permission from the landowner. All of rattlesnake is private so you would have to get permission, and that permission would obviously have to include someone placing the cache and people searching for it.

Some of rattlesnake is controlled by conservation trusts, that does not make it public land. Many geocaches are located in conservation land without explicit permission. This seems to be tolerated with conservation land that is publicly owned or readily accessable to the public. Rattlesnake is neither.
