I don't think you're going crazy.

We had a rain storm here in CT. the other day and I was driving along and I too noticed the white stuff. I had stopped at a stop sign that was on a hill and when I accellerated (spelling?) I went into a spin. I originally thought the white stuff was hydraulic oil (mixed with the rain water) from a leaky dumptruck due to the slick road condition.

Now I think the white stuff was a type of pollen that the rain washed into the street.

Anyone have a better idea?
