I am sorry to hear that...
It's probably because people weren't picking up after Fido and left waste around. Those same people will probably whine about the lack of dog-friendly places.
On a side note...
We're looking for a big field to play in near Alton - preferably not a park - because I want to take my dog off leash and don't want to do that in public (re: people with allergies or fear of dogs). I am very responsible for my dog - I do clean up after him, always. He's in training to be a therapy dog and well behaved. I do have children and they are usually with me - they are also well behaved (but honestly - the dog is the easiest of them all!)
If you have a large field and don't mind us running around on it, please PM us. We'd be happy to have you meet us and would appreciate permission to be on your property and promise not to be a nuance about it. (We might even bring you homemade cookies or something as a big THANK YOU!
