 Small items such as prescription sunglasses (with polycarbonate lenses) weigh a fraction of their normal weight when submerged. The slightest motion will cause them to skitter away: even a brief overnight delay for sunlight has caused items to disappear on me. 
And even if you successfully recover them next year, any metal parts on those sunglasses may not be operable by Spring. This lake water—for whatever reason—has a very corrosive effect on most metals.
If you need an excuse to return to the lake sooner than later, I hope I've provided one!
