Speaking strictly as the occasional tourist / visitor, Laconia needs:

Starbucks. Tilton is too far.

A real Army - Navy store. I miss the old one.

Cheap, decent quality Asian food: teriyaki / bento / yakisoba in an informal setting, with take out.
