No, its not fair at all, and no, I do not like it. I do feel for your parents, and less, and the rest of us in this boat, but my point is that at some point we need to realize that the increase in taxes is due to an increase in value of something we own. That increase in value is ours to do with as we please, and the choice of what we do with it is ours as well. We can all argue all we want about a homes value not being liquid, and not making you a millionaire, but at the end of the day someone, at some point, is going to cash in on that value.
