Another possibility (night):
HEADLIGHTS.
SUVs and station wagons, when overloaded towards the rear, point the headlights too high on low beam. For a low-slung (and too-heavy) Corvette,
that could have triggered his brand-identity thingy.
I pull over (like the Vette did) for
HEADLIGHTS, propane trucks, gasoline trucks, and tailgaters with a propane/gasoline truck tailgating
the tailgater.
(And "just leave earlier").
