No wake zones are certainly important for safety around public docking areas.....I totally agree with that.But beware of them in some of the more remote areas.I wasn't concerned,a few years back,when they changed my bay to a no wake zone.We could no longer water ski from the dock and the beach.....but I figured that was a small price to pay for a little break in the constant battering from boat wakes. Man,was I ever wrong......without the wave action the beach and area around the dock are always collecting silt and leaves. It requires weekly cleaning.Also,we have western exposure and milfoil from up the lake is drifting our way and trying to take root.
Don't get me wrong....I'm not complaining about such a trivial problem,just passing along the info in case anyone else can use it.
