Default i can give you two data points

Nine years ago, Hurricane Floyd dropped a tree on my roof which wiped out the chimney. Jim Houston came (by the way, his work was excellent, but he had a big backlog and I had to wait 6 months to get him to do my job) and rebuilt the chimney from the the firebox up. This was $1600. Two years ago, on a different house, I had a cricket built (which included about 10 sqft of reshingling the roof) and about 4 ft of the chimney repointed. This was $600.

For labor-type jobs (there isn't much in the way of materials needed to repoint a chimney), figure on about $400-500/day. If your chimney can be repaired in a single day - then I would guess your bill will be in this area.
