We have had the first inch of snow at Black Cat. Snowfall for November was a bit behind last November but only trivially. Last November we had twice the snow of this November but it's a difference of an inch. Both events were pretty similar... last year we got two inches and this year we got an inch.

Sunday night as the warm front approached it slowed down significantly and the snow held on longer than forecast. Then the sleet and freezing rain held on longer than forecast.

I was driving up from Rochester and got the year's first hands-on introduction to winter driving as Rt 11 and 25 were all snow covered the whole way. I think it caught the road crews off guard.

An inch of snow remained on the ground all through December 1 and a trace has remained since.

This week we can expect above-normal temps today and tomorrow. We are having a break from the pre-Thanksgiving warmth. Winter will return on Friday. We have a chance of snow on Sunday.
