FWIW, and while it
was quiet, most of the boats zipping around this Saturday were bass boats. As the day calmed, two kayaks appeared at about 3PM. A bit later, I saw six bass boats traveling in a straight row—an odd sight to see.
Then, at 8:15PM (sunset is 6:48), a runabout went by without a stern light or light staff: Ten minutes later, a noisy go-fast went by with no lights at all!
As they approached the old "Tuftonboro Bay"—having passed about 40 lakefront residences—the go-fast then turned their switchable exhaust to quiet.
