Anyone on the broadside of Rattlesnake have internet with Fairpoint or another company??? I'm mid-island and they claim they can not provide internet service to my location.
Seems like I have seen threads in the past stating the contrary?? Any info would be appreciated...presently using Verizon hotspot which can get expensive during times with the company. Thanks |

the 911 number not the original lot number. I have access. Do you have a phone or has there ever been a phone at your house?

I presume my 911 # would be 832 Rattlesnake Is. We presently do not have a phone but the original owners did.
What number are you? |

I got the same story from Fairpoint about hooking me up on Barndoor Island. I complained a lot and pointed out that my neighbor had it and they finally gave in and installed it. It took a couple service calls and a little tweaking, but they eventually got it solid at 1.5Mbs. It's not great, but it's a lot better than constantly watching data use on an ATT cellular connection.
I wonder if the islands will ever get decent service? It's great that LTE is finally getting there, but it's so expensive that you can't really use it. |

Do you know anyone on the mainland whose house you can see from your place on the Island? If so, you could either bring in your own cable service or share/pay for part of theirs. Then you use a wireless link to get Internet back here to the Island.
This works very well, but you need a line of sight path between your place and the mainland place. By the way, I am looking for someone on the Gilford/West Alton side who is interested in something like this. Regards, Steve |
