Thumbs down Tuftonboro Assessments

Attention all you fellow Tuftonboro waterfront residents: I urge you to run to the nearest drugstore and stock up on Vaseline. The new assessments are out and you won't be happy. My waterfront lot (vacant, 1 acre, 40 feet of frontage) saw an increase in assessed value of over 22%. OK, I know we have to wait until the new tax rate comes out to get the final picture, but how they can justify these increases in this market climate is beyond me.

All I can say is that we should bombard the town with abatements and stop this robbery in progress.

Default You are not alone......

Moultonborough lakefront residents are up in arms over the latest proposed assessments. Increases of 28-30% are not unusual. Residents had a meeting with the Selectmen yesterday...so many people came, they had to move the meeting to the high school as they exceeded the capacity of Town Hall. Go to this site http://moultonborospeaks.blogspot.com/ and read what is going on in Moultonborough..... GOOD LUCK>>> Lakefront owners are in the gun sights of the assessors.
