No Wake in Meredith Bay

Personally, I think that the No Wake in Meredith Bay is quite helpful, you still commonly see boaters speeding to find a space at the dock. The other day I was on a boat ride to get lunch in Meredith, and we were halfway between the docks and the No Wake begin. There were LARGE waves heading out of the harbor...LARGE WAVES!

I'm just asking for feedback on what other people think of what I mentioned above! Thanks!

No wake zones are certainly important for safety around public docking areas.....I totally agree with that.But beware of them in some of the more remote areas.I wasn't concerned,a few years back,when they changed my bay to a no wake zone.We could no longer water ski from the dock and the beach.....but I figured that was a small price to pay for a little break in the constant battering from boat wakes. Man,was I ever wrong......without the wave action the beach and area around the dock are always collecting silt and leaves. It requires weekly cleaning.Also,we have western exposure and milfoil from up the lake is drifting our way and trying to take root.
Don't get me wrong....I'm not complaining about such a trivial problem,just passing along the info in case anyone else can use it.

It's clean, it's clear; there's no milfoil, there's no leaf or debris accumulation, there's never any rafter's, there's barely any ice fisherman, the boat traffic is out there beyond the maker buoys. All things considered, up & down, right to left, the Buoy three area is easily, the #1 - A+ area of the whole danged lake. "It is the Greatest" FLL

The weekend boat waves & wakes are so big that almost everyone has a boat lift along our little coast and all the waves flush all the unwanted stuff to some far-a-way, backwater area, thankyou.

It scares the hell out of me to think of the spread of milfoil in our lakes - not a trivial problem at all! Check out what is happening to the folks on Lower Suncook Lake in Barnstead. (right on Rt. 28S) click for link

FLL.......sounds good to me....nothing like a little wave action to keep unwanted debris away.......

McDude,I can't believe how invasive that stuff is.There is a rafting area a mile upwind from us and it's loaded with milfoil.The boat traffic dislodges it and a lot of it ends up around my beach and dock.It requires constant attention and if I miss a strand it takes root pretty quickly.It even grows on shore! If it washes up on the beach it will root within a week and each 12' strand will sprout 4 or 5 new plants.I've also noticed that if it remains in the water it will sink after a few days and take root on the bottom.It's like some creature from a cheap science fiction movie.I have nightmares about thousands of slimy milfoils invading my house at night and strangling me as I sleep.
