Default Alton supermarket?

Does anyone know what's going on with the supermarket that Mr. Bahre is supposedly building by the Alton circle? The last I heard was the proposal was being heard at a town meeting last spring. I hope it's still going to happen!

From what I have read, all approvals have been obtained and the project is moving ahead. I believe it includes a Hannaford supermarket, somewhat smaller than the one in Gilford, and a drug store. My understanding is that it won't be directly at the Alton traffic circle but on Rt. 28, just past the circle (going toward Wolfeboro.)

Default Hannaford market in Alton

Hi. The new complex will also include a Meredith Village Savings Bank branch office. The entire complex is scheduled to open early 2005.

Default Supermarket in Alton

The spot for it is right behind McDonalds and you will be able to get to it from Range Street, also a new road going in beside Range Street and last but not least from 28. The state was in there 2 weeks ago doing the surveying for the roads at McDonalds. I heard at the town hall that they are still shooting for enclosure before winter so work inside can continue during the winter.
