Village Antique & Classic Cars in Melvin Village

...Does anybody know what this place is?
I assume its an auto shop of some sort, but the right side looks like a mini-museum of sorts. However, every time I have stopped (recently, since i discovered the museum part), they are closed. The hours I see listed are the auto shop hours.
Are they open to the public to view the cars? Just curious...

Those with an antique automobile or a Ford Model A would know all about this.

I think the owner started out back just repairing/restoring Ford Model A from the 1930's.

Then expanded.

Hope others can chime in with better information.

They buy, sell and service older collector cars. Two years ago I drove by when the door was open and I saw what looked like a 1938 four door Packard Convertible inside. Whiplash..hit the brakes.

The car was Not a Packard, but a four door Dusenberg Convertible with a second windshield protecting the rear seat. I talked to a very knowledable young guy working on the car. I looked it up when I got home. It was worth over $1M. I think it was Green.

The year before, there was a 1940-41 Lincoln Zephyr V12 Convertible for sale. I think the price was $40K.

I keep my eyes peeled every time I go by there. You never know what you might see. BTW: I think they are TWO seperate busineses.

EDIT: I believe the "Model J" referred to the chassis and running gear. The "SJ" probably stands for supercharged. Every body was different.

There's several antique auto restoration places in MV, for some reason they all kinda cropped up there. Village Old Car Shoppe (?), M-something Motors, and the MV Garage. There's also TreeTops Automotive just south of Pine Cone. Most of them are not on set hours, you have to catch them when they're in.

I wonder how many remember when there was a "Plaque" on the drivers side door sill that said; "Body By Fisher".... Cadillacs, Even Chevrolet's. In the early days, car makers (incl Detroit) built the chassis and running gear..and "Coach Builders" built the bodywork.
