Default I saw that

I was perusing the iceout cams and spotted that boat... It's only a matter of time.

The water temp is 37 degrees as of this morning... about 5 more and it's ice out!

Thanks for posting the picture, Don. It helps ease the wait!

Timing is everything in life...and how great it is to be able to capture the boat on the webcam. Great timing!
Now with the Alton Bay Mobile Digi-cam, we can call your small boat in the water:

and raise you one inboard/outdrive in the water at Parker Marine:

Of course, this begs the question(s): How much gas does he have in the boat, and just where does he really think he's going at this time of the year???

Default Where was he going?

Sunday pm April 3rd the boat was traveling pretty fast around the parker docks leaving huge wakes. Not sure what he was doing.

Trying to help melt the ice, maybe? If so, I'm all for it!

Default Breaking Ice!

Trying to break up the ice is what they were doing. I was talking with Pepper today and she told me that it is done along the Weirs Channel by one of the marina's there every year. It speeds up the ice out process.

I'll guess that it helps break up the floes so that the wind is less likely to move 1 big, heavy floe into the docks. Smaller pieces propably stack up better, with less pressure at any 1 point, causing less damage perhaps .... ?

Default Breaking Ice?

I thought that too at first but all the ice in Parker Marine was already gone at that time unless there was some around the corner in the back to the left that I could not see.

Thumbs up

It is nice to start seeing boats on the web cams. There is one in Wolfeboro Bay right now (see Street Cam, above the buildings). This area was still ice a few days ago!
