Has anyone taken advantage of the Mount Washington Observatory’s Seminars on the Summit? It sounds like quite an adventure.
Naming the steamers after the area mountains was a good tradition. It really helps tie the Lakes Region and White Mountains together. The remaining ship and her predecessor, which was and is the largest vessel on the lake, is named after the biggest mountain in the state. Several other early steamboats could have easily taken the name. This couldn’t have worked out better. Last edited by Rattlesnake Gal; 05-18-2005 at 08:48 AM. |
