According to the news, Tedeschi's has been bought out by 7-Eleven. Transaction will close mid 2015 allegedly. So there will be a few more signs changing hands in the Lakes Region...One is on Rt 25 in Moultonborough.

What was a Tedeschi's for a very short time on Rt 104 in New Hampton, but has been a vacant building now for a number of months, will become a NH State Liquor store, sometime soon, as the state store in Meredith on Rt 104 relocates to New Hampton. That should be a very happening location for State of NH liquor sales with all that visibility, and easy parking, and location.
So's, if everyone increases their intake of adult beverages, then maybe the state will be able to redo the Meredith Neck Rd, which is an un-numbered state road that is all falling apart!

7-Eleven is a Japanese company. The US headquarters is in Dallas, Texas. In Asia the 7-Eleven stores are mostly franchise stores. In Thailand there are 8,000 7-Eleven stores and they seem to be on every corner. The US model may be all company owned. The last remaining regional stores are Cumberland Farms. Having driven across country multiple times and different routes I stop at any available convenience store. Some are run very well while others are poorly managed. All is about management and correct product mix. Some are great while others just get by. Will be interesting to view the changes when Tedeschi's changes to 7-Eleven. |

Franchise in the US. Though starting a new store is harder, than purchasing an existing location. SBA typically will not finance them, though there are specialized banks who can/will.
Franchises are far less fruitful unless you can afford to own many of them. Quote:
