Sorry.... I don't mean to be a pain in the neck... or anywhere else! LOL
![]() We are looking to having a boat and captain for 2-3 hours on the night of our wedding. Mills Falls shuts us down at 11:00pm on the dot without except or bribes of money!!! We have MANY people coming in that are in their 30's from out of town and will not be happy with ending the socialization at 11. Our thought is to have a floating venue... not necessarily as big as the Mount.... but possible if there is nothing else.... to go out for a late cruise of the lake. I think it would be especially nice for those guests that are not used to the lake and all it has to offer!! Anyone, know of anything like this and whom I would contact??? Thanks again for your input and assistance. I don't know what I would do without all of you wonderful peopel!!!!!! Wendy |

I don't think I would have a wedding at a site that has an 11 PM curfew. We are all grown up kids.
Not sure if I know of anybody that operates at that time of the night. Maybe call the Winnipesaukee Taxi???? This is a big reason why I recommend Oliver's Lodge on Meredith Neck. You can party all night into the wee hours of the morning. Even do a little 'dipping when the sun rise.! ![]()

Trust me I tried to get some people to stay there!! Couldn't get enough of the guest to want to. Most of them are making a weekend of it.
Worst case scenario, we stock the rooms!!!! I just thought it would be great to bring the wedding party and some friends out were we wouldn't bother anyone. |

I know you (the wedding party) probably wouldn't want to continue the festivities in a bar, but Guisseppe's (spelling?) in the main Mills Falls building is open until at least midnight. And if its a big enough wedding, they may keep it open later. Just a suggestion.

I can think of two possibilities. There is an excursion boat out of Wolfeboro called the Winnipesaukee Belle; it looks like an old sidewheeler. I've heard that it can be chartered for occasions, though I'm not sure whether they would pick up in Meredith. I've also seen a rather large and beautiful cruiser going past Bear Island, and I was told that it can also be chartered. I don't know the name, but maybe somebody else on the Forum could tell you. Congratulations and best wishes in advance! Silver Duck |

Our wedding spilled into mills falls restaurant area (the Italian Place, Can't remember the name) around 11pm till closing, then back into the hotel. The party was still going at 2 am when we turned in. At that point it had made it back into the rooms.

You guys (and ladies) are always so helpful! I will try these options and let you know what happens!
Keep the idea's coming though. Also, we are in the process of talking to some Limo companies for transportation to and from the church. If there is anyone on the forum that owns such a company.... I would rather give you the business, so please let me know! Have a great day, Wendy |

I tend to doubt the Winnipesaukee Belle will go to Meredith. I have never seen it leave the area between Wolfeboro, mouth of Alton Bay, southern tip of Rattlesnake. It always does a loop around that area. Probably also would not stay out that late.
Silver Duck references the large beautiful cruiser & I think I have seen the same boat he refers to pick up a wedding party at the Center Harbor town docks. I do not know the name but I saw the same boat docked at the residence last year where the Sea Ray owners party was held last July. You could call Irwin Marine & ask if they can put you in contact with the right individual. I'm sure someone there knows of the boat. |

Winnipesaukee Lake Tours formerly known as Winnipesaukee Water Taxi, does offer private charters, but it only holds 25 passengers.
With luck, WBB can set you up with the Doris E. ( ![]() Wendy, do you realize that you are obligated to share a wedding photo or two with us? ![]() I hope everything works out perfectly for your special day! September, right? RG |

The last I heard the Winni Belle had gotten out of the private cruise business and was strictly for functions @ the Wolfeboro Inn (They own the boat). It is worth a try though.

Guisseppe's is the "Italian Place". Worth a shot. The boat that someone posted earlier driving by Bear Island is called the Manatu (or something very similiar to that-I may have the spelling wrong, but it's pronounced like that). I've heard that its available to rent too, but don't know if it's just rumor. It looks like a private yacht but its huge. The biggest I've seen on the lake. It docks at one of the Beaver Islands (on the West side).

jkjoshuatree is correct about where it is docked. Thats where I saw it last July at the Irwin/Sea Ray party. It was docked where Irwin was holding the party, one of the islands out in front of Patrician Shores, I think it is Beaver Island. Now that jkjoshuatree mentions it, I think it was something like Manatu, Manitou.
As I said earlier, the boat picked up a wedding party at the Center Harbor town docks one day last year when I was docked there. Last edited by PROPELLER; 05-19-2005 at 01:39 PM. |

The Manitou is owned by the owners of Oliver's Lodge. I'm sure he would take your party. I'm not sure if he will go out at 11 PM at night. My high school class reunion was at Oliver's Lodge and a ride on the manitou was an added bonus.

I am thinking about 20 people... but could make it more. I am just thinking the wedding party, their spouses and a few of our friends. OK maybe 30. Certainly not the 120 people from the wedding though!
Yes, it is in September, after labor day. I am really just trying to prevent us from going out on our boats or back to our House because of getting kicked out of the reception hall. I even offered them more money for more time.... but NOPE. Nothing past 11pm. So, I really do appreciate all the feed back! (and yes I will certainly share pictures ![]() Wendy |

We are getting married @ Oliver Lodge on 9/10…we are really excited, and I guess we won’t have to worry about that curfew.
Herb, the owner of the lodge, owns the boat and offered us a cruise at some point during our wedding weekend. I don’t think we are going to need it, so it may be available. 30 people should be no problem…it’s a big boat. Good luck with your wedding-have a great time and let’s hope for good weather! Tell him Eric Foster says hi when you talk to him. |
