John Cook, who owned Mame's Restaurant in Meredith for many years, and was an excellent pilot as well, passed away Wednesday night after a long, unsavory battle with cancer. He will be much missed

RIP, always wondered what happened to that place. I saw it went to auction but nothing's ever been done since.

John was really a wonderful guy. I got to know him via Mames but was lucky to get to know him outside of it as well. I'll miss John and all of his wonderful skiing, flying, boating, Mames and catering stories. John was a treasure to the town of Meredith and a very proud father. I will miss him.
