Pontoon Rearview Mirror

Greetings, friends! Anyone have recommendations for a pontoon boat rearview mirror? The ones that I've found with good reviews are over $100, and I'm not even sure they work well to begin with (vibration, storage, field-of-view are all concerns).

There are plenty of mirrors available. What do you want to attach it to? If you want a wider field of vision are you thinking a convex mirror?

I did a quick search on amazon to “boat rear view mirror” and lots came up.
There was a particularly interesting one that used a suction cup that I might buy.
I have one of those suction cup iPhone holders and it stays nicely in place. A mirror should be much lighter.

As of Thursday, the Plymouth Walmart had a very sturdy looking, standard above the windshield style, over-sized rear view mirror, reg price $15, reduced to $3.50. Located next to the headlight replacements and auto body items, along with other car mark down items.

I bought one, and will post its name, rank & serial # here, later on.

Seems a rear view mirror could be good on a row boat where you row while facing the stern. I have a 15' aluminum canoe with 7' wood oars and an old slide seat row rig with extended oarlocks, and it goes surprisingly fast when you power it up.

One time, I rowed directly into the Meredith town dock, and hit it, so's for rowing in a congested area with others nearby, a rear view mirror could be a help.

This Plymouth Walmart double discount bargain, from $12.96 to 9.00 to 3.50 is an Auto Drive 10" rear view mirror w/ day/night lever, rugged heavy-duty construction, non-glare day/night prism interior, made in USA, black-32000, and a screw on, center mounting bracket from above.

It looks like a rear view mirror? Go to walmart.com and find the world's greatest rear view mirror ever made, but for one that costs just $3.50 ..... you must go to the Plymouth Wal-Mart ...... and maybe has already been sold ....... too bad!

So, if you are rowing while facing the stern, which is how it is usually done, doesn't that make it a FRONT view mirror?

I have had them in wakeboard boats before. I find they are hard to use, with the boat bouncing around it can be hard to acquire your target in the mirror. I assume you want one for monitoring during towing?

I mainly wanted it for some bit of idea when I am being overtaken. I'd still turn my head to see before I turn, but I've gotten surprised a couple times when folks I know came up from behind and hit me with the airhorns.

I like the "on the rail" mount...looking forward to your review!

I would think the one in post # 9 would vibrate a lot since its on a pole. You may want to try this one. If have railings up front mount similar like a car.
Mount one on the other side as well.
