If you make a readable sign that says 'Portland $20' ...... people in nice cars will get you there and refuse to take your money .... plus it becomes an adventure ...... you'll get rides from 80-year old drivers with expensive cars ..... like no kidding.

Try this link: https://nh.craigslist.org/d/rideshare/search/rid
Craigslist.com has a forum for those interested in "rideshare" under the "community" section.

Actually the cheapest way may be to take the bus to Boston's South Station and then hop on the bus to Portland.... Both are out of South Station, and each will take about 2 hours (four hours total).

Somewhat off topic, but this site has plenty interest in boats ……. so, what's in Portland, Maine ……….. so, here is a 247' sailboat that is or was recently docked at Portland, Maine ….. something to see on the video here at its Portland dock: https://www.pressherald.com/2018/09/...orlds-largest/
It looks like a real, big water, ocean sailboat, designed for sailing the seven seas, as opposed to being a motorboat with an auxiliary sail. At 247', that makes it longer than the 230' MS Mount Washington. What comes to mind is a MacGregor 26, a combo sailboat-motorboat, except this 247' hull looks more like a real sailboat shaped hull, with the emphasis on designed to be sailed. And the USS Constitution, a square rigged sailboat without a motor, launched in 1797, is 203' length. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirabella_V With a 292' tall mast, it must have been very difficult to find the straight pine tree to make that mast ..... ha-ha-ha. Mirabella V on Travel Channel 2007 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pPszhSw2vM 7:24 .... sailing Mediterranean at 19-knots record fast Home port for the Mirabella, is Monte Carlo, a beautiful ocean front city in the tax free Principality of Monaco, sandwiched between France and Italy ...... ruled by former Camp Tecumseh, Moultonborough camper, Prince Albert of Monaco, where back in the 1970's as a young camper he sailed a Sunfish on Lake Winnipesaukee .....what a great country that Monaco ...... way to go ..... Camp Tecumseh ..... you did a great job with Prince Albert and indirectly with the Mirabella!

IF the going rate is 20 bucks you can bet FLL will offer 2 bucks and maybe a tour of all the places to get free stuff along the way.

Talk to your friends. Also, as time gets near, keep an eye on the weather if you are flying. May want to go the night before with questionable weather / driving conditions. Good luck. Dave
