Realtor Follow Up?

I am puzzled by the realtor response in the lakes region. I am a former MA realtor and our firm always had automated follow ups with clients at regular intervals.I don’t seem to be able to get any realtors to stay in touch. We are a few months out from(hopefully)making a purchase, but I’d like to build a relationship with a realtor so I know that we can trust them to be part of a big investment for our family, but it seems like area realtors only want to talk to you if you are cash in hand ready to make an offer. Is it just that the market is so busy that they don’t have to put in the effort, or is this a lakes region phenomenon that’s just different from my experience in MA? Honestly, not being critical, just trying to understand the local market. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
