Anyone see or hear about this and if the hiker was found? Is this even a reputable account—I've not seen anything else reported.

Maybe this is a "scam". I say that because at the end of the notice there is a request "Send a Gift". What's that all about. If this is a "scam", it is a sick sense of humor doing it.

I just went on the Facebook page for Lakes Region NH Emergency Alerts.
It looks legit. Posts all emergency calls in the area. There is an update on this: "4 hikers are lost They are warmly dressed and Alton Command has just made contact with them." Sounds like they are safe. |
