The Concord Monitor article addresses road salt as a contamination culprit in flows into Lake Winnipesaukee (via Waukewan).
I recall an article in the Union Leader that stated New Hampshire receives 125,000,000 tons of road salt at Portsmouth, delivered by ship from Chile. As salt water is heavier than fresh, I wonder how much road salt (and other contaminants) will appear in NH's well water too? Last edited by madrasahs; 04-13-2004 at 07:16 PM. |
