Default Lighted markers

Does anyone know when the lighted markers will be re-installed as well as the no-wake zone markers? Also, has anyone checked out if the Long Island Bridge lights have been repaired. By the end of last season there were very few operating.

They should be put in by the time Memorial Day hits- no doubt in the next week or two.

Was Out Yesterday, (thursday), Mp Was Installing The Ne Wake Bouys In The Weirs Channel And Replaced The Black Marker That Drifted Down In Front Of Handy Landing. Went Through Sallys Gut, There Are Only 2 Markers In The Whole Area!

Default Some Are In

We can see lighted markers flashing now at Smalls Cove, Moose Island, Parker Island, and by "The Castle" on Sleepers Island.

I know the MP used to pull a lot of the lighted navaids but I recall seeing the one of Sandy Pt frozen in the ice this year. Did/do they still pull the new ones out ? I wonder if one reason the old ones were replaced was because the new ones could be left in place.

Default Still Remove Them

I think the MP still removes the lights for the winter, as all flashing from the markers we can see stops in late fall. They may just remove the lights themselves from the tops of the markers. By the way, the "No Wake" signs went in at Minge Cove and Smalls Cove yesterday, too.

They left the Buoys themselves in the water but removed the light from the top.

Default Lights - Long Island Bridge

As of last weekend they were NOT on. The bridge was completely dark.
Hopefully they will be on before Memorial Day weekend.
