Default Can Anybody Recommend A Transmission Shop In The Area?

I got a car with an automatic transmission that needs repair. I don't think the tranny is gone but either needs some adjustment or possibly a bad sensor.

I have always had bad luck with transmission shops in the past and seems I always take it too the shady ones. I am afraid if I take this in just anywhere they will tell me I need a transmission or rebuild even if it is something simple. If I do that is fine I just don't want to be taken advantage of if I don't need one.

Can anyone recommend a transmission shop that they trust and knows what they are doing?

Thanks

They used to be behind Wendys heading towards Wal-mart. By the Kar-Kraft Auto dealership. My dad had his '68 Barracuda auto trans rebuilt there about 10 years ago. Very great work. Stand behind it.

now they are at a different location. still the same great service and people that work there but different location

I've used Globe before as well. There did a great job, not inexpensive tho. I'd go back there if I needed work done.

If it is just a repair issue a qualified repair garage would work as well, not as specilized a task to complete.

Loudon Garage is about as straight as they come and they tow as well if you need that service. They are located right off 106 in Loudon on Chichester Road. Matt will take very good care of you and their pricing is very fair. 798-3161

When searching I saw globe transmission in the phone book and checked the website. They looked good but I really wanted to hear from somebody that had used them. Seems like a few have tried them with no complaints.

I will give them a call.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I had Globe put in a used transmission in one of my cars ("my mule" which I use to commute to Concord).

They got the transmission from Bow Auto Parts (used) who had also given me a quote ... same price for parts and installation.

They were quick and pleasant.

There's a warranty from Bow on parts, and warranty on service from Globe.

Happy customer!
