Just to satisfy our curiousity we got another remote module for the temperature station we have. This one reports back water temp at whatever depth the probe is at. Right now I'd guess it's between 2 and 3 feet deep and at the end of our dock (perhaps 54" depth right now) in Alton Bay. Funny thing is that it's reading about 58 F. Given CLA's temp measured at Black Cat I and that reported by the dam guys (or maybe it's still Jolly I this time of year) I'd have expected it to be more like 52 F. Now we do have a shallow area off the dock, it goes out about 70' before it gets much over 15' deep and then drops off. Should I expect such a temp difference due to said shoaling ? Or is the water coming in from the Merrymeeting warmer than the rest of the lake ?

..hey everyone....the lake is warming up pretty good....I was in the water yesterday wearing just a bathing suit.....in over my head....and it's not terrible cold....it's just kinda cold....and after a couple minutes you get numb and don't feel nothing...so it's probably ok to start boating out in a little tippy boat like a kayak-canoe-small sailboat......just stay with the boat and someone will be along to help.......bbbrrrrr
