Default I'm gonna miss you ,Girl

I grew up spending my summers here. I arrived here 2 months after I was born. That would be to our camp in April, 1951
My first true love :here and she is still here! we were both 14 years old!
Every year at the end of summer we would wait until we had to be in school tomorrow, to leave ...
58 years of memories : july 1950's a saturday and there were 6-8 boats on the lake, deer swimming across meredith bay..the shoreline from meredith to spindel point had 3 houses on it, oh sure, there were a few set back in the woods but that was about it.
1960 or so: my sister was on the front page of the Sunday Herald Traveler boston newspaper ,,,water skiing between floating iceburgs...
Anyone remember when someone painted the Indian at endicott rock orange??? my brother!

Anyway..my memories are sweet ...I will take them with me to the grave to keep me company....
I will give you all this to think about

Smile Very nice and well timed!

Thank you...

With all the foolishness that a handful of posters have contributed to here latey, it was a true breath of fresh air to read your thoughts.

That gem reminded me of why this site is still so enjoyable, and why I don't let a day go by where I don't check for an uplifting post such as yours!

Default I thought I was bad.

Waterskiing under the Governor's Island bridge! I remember waterskiing in December in a snow squall. As well as waterskiing after the ice broke up. Since this was on the Broads, we were on a constant look out for wind shifting! I remember driving around the lake on Friday and Saturday nights looking for parties to crash. Back then, I met a lot of great folks on the lake. A number of us still keep in touch!
The waterski races at the Weirs. Stealing glass mugs from Irwin's Pier. The rock bands at the Irwin Gardens. The teen dances at lake Shore Park Pavillion. Roller Skating in Alton.
Those were the days. I am glad I was a part of it.
I put my boat away today. It was a great last trip on the lake yesterday.
I will be enjoying the lake this winter with my sled.

I agree with you. I can hardly read the Pirate thread. I have a 15 year old who is not doing well and we don't know how much longer he will be with us. That makes it even worse. But I never could stand sad animal stories.

Sorry guys.
I will try to keep things on the lighter side. Hopefully that was my last sad post for a long long long time!

Tis: Best of luck. My guy is only going to be 6 this winter and I already dread and sometimes think of that day. Something I know I shouldn't do but it's hard when you hear other peoples stories.

Thanks dpg. Every time he has an event we wonder how much longer. But he is holding on. He has live a year longer than the vet said he would.
