Is it time yet to start a new tread about what activities everyone is doing without ice sports. How about some tales?
Pepper is jumping crib to board a ship. Way to go. Enjoy your vacation so the Lobster will taste great next season. Who else is doing something different?

Well, I finished the downstairs bath remodel, was going to be a mud season project!
Since I've only been to camp one weekend since Thanksgiving, I've spent the rest of my free time tinkering out in my woodworking shop....all those Saturday/Sunday mornings spent on PBS watching Norm & the gang are finally starting to pay off (or so says my wife). Oh yeah, and I've put about 40 coats of wax on the new snowmobile...but 70 miles and a half tank of gas later, I'm starting to turn my attention to the riding lawnomower and what new gadgets I'll be adding to the boat this year! Finally, I've been able to wash and vacuum my truck every weekend since New Year's.....OUTDOORS! ![]() Skip |

What else would the Quilt Lady do but make quilts to warm family and friends . . .and you know who you are! The cold weather will come and I'm getting ready.

Never noticed how deep the sock draw really is...found some old Jimmy Buffett tee shirts from the mid-80's...This lack of snow is rather educational!

is also depressing. I look forward to a season full of skiing and sledding every year. Looks like I will break even on my threedom pass, but I have a number of vouchers to other mountains that I have to use.
I'm planning another trip to the Great West for the end of February. The ski resorts are having the best season in 2 decades. Finish remodeling the .5 bath and the woodworking bench saw many projects. Jeez! ![]()

I was thinking of pulling the boats out of the back yard to get them ready for an early March ice-out, but its too late - the ground is already thawing and I'd leave deep ruts.

Don't feel too bad.....my neighbors decided that this was the year to take up snowmobiling. They went out just after Christmas and bought two brand new Polaris 600's.plus a trailer and all the duds to the tune of about 20k.I feel so bad for them since we'd planned to take them out and show them the trails.Oh.well!

1. Built a closet in my bedroom.
2. Organized the junk drawers in the kitchen (3 of them). 3. Organized the junk drawer in my office. And all the closets too. 4. Had the kids organize old clothes/stuffed animials/books for Goodwill. 5. Cleaned the entire house. And its only Sunday morning. I'm off now to build another closet shelving system in at least one other closet (maybe 2) and then I'm slowly going to start installing new doors in every room in the house. I certainly miss the lake and the snow and cold and the ice and the fishing and snowmobiling, but at least my house will look great as long as the warm weather is around.

My favorite snowmobiling has been up in the mountains around Lake Winnipesaukee. However, I remember having to chase the snow north and trucking up into Canada to find it.
![]() I'm still holding out for a miracle so as the Alton Winter Fest and the Winni Fishing Derby can go on this year. ![]() ![]()

I finally got around to winterizing my outboard about 3 weeks ago during a warm(er) spell. I got caught in the fall, thinking I would have one more lake trip, but it didn't happen. I had to buy one of those attachments for a garden hose. Now I'm ready for the winter?????
I'm renting a place starting the 19th to do some snowmobiling ... at Far Echo, right on the trail. If there's no snow I'm thinking of a wheel conversion that I saw at Elvis Presley's place in Memphis. He would ride his snowmobile on the grass. Actually, if there's no snowmobiling I may try skiing at Gunstock (it's been 30 or so years) I may break a leg but what the &^$%! |

PS Have been doing a condo remodel but am pretty much out of funds so was going to let the closets and doors go. I then go to thinking that I could have this young man add those pieces to the doors on both sides to give them a nicer look? Would that be a lot cheaper than new doors as I cannot afford new doors either. The ones hanging are solid wood flat doors. Thanks for any helpful ideas or suggestions etc. |
