So I'm looking for a semi-romantic place where I could bring a lady friend for a nice hot cup of hot chocolate in front of a fireplace to indulge in conversation for the evening. Does anyone know where a good place would be here in the Lakes Region?

Throw some peppermint schnapps in that hot choc, and I'm enjoying that right in my own home! How about Church Landing in Meredith? I love to hang around there

Agree with AW that Ellacoya is a good local choice.
IMHO one of the best lounges with a real old fashion stone fireplace and comfy stuffed sofas and chairs in the Common Man in Lincoln. http://www.thecman.com/restaurants/common-man-lincoln/ A bit of a drive from here but that should not be a problem if you have all evening. |

Corner House in Sandwich. Just call first and ask for a fireplace table. I do it all the time. They usually get me in early....Story telling night is a good time as well depending on who they have there.

How about Gunstock? Great fireplace, tavern and snack bar near by and plenty to see.

"semi-romantic?"
Go for the gusto young man! In a woman's eyes, there is no such thing as semi. |

The lounge at the Woodshed, if a gas fireplace is OK.
For a huge roaring fire, I'll second the C-Man Lincoln. |
