I am English and have my principle residency in the UK along with my business being a UK registered corporation. Over the years I have spent quite a lot of time traveling (frequent visitor to the US and NH) along with having lived in a number of countries over the years...
Now I'm moving toward the big 60, my mind is made up to start achieving some of my other goals in life, with one of them to spend more time around the Lakes and enjoy some leisure time. Unfortunately, at this time I cannot gain a green card so my visits will be restricted to 3 month segments, however, I am reviewing the possibility of opening a US branch of the business which may overcome some of the issues but that is a different matter! My aim will be to initially seek a long term rental / lease (is this possible for non-residents? it should be I know but do people run with this concept?) and spend the allowable time there and the majority of the balance back here in the UK. It will be mainly for the good lady, myself, visiting kids and grandchildren! The ideal property from a 'dream' perspective would be a 3 / 4 bed timber / log construction that could be a 'home' (not a holiday rental) in a convenient near to facility location but not in the town square (if you know what I mean!) Semi-rural I guess is the term! As to the area... I'm hoping for local advice and knowledge so all comments more than welcome... By the way, as per my previous post, I'm a clay shooter but I also enjoy being on the water, exploring and getting out on a snowmobile... All relevant comments and suggestions most welcome. Thanks Mike A |
