Went out to take some sunset pictures below the dam in Laconia, wasn't much interesting until a guy showed up all rigged up for some fly fishing.
He didn't catch anything while I was there.. but I got a few pictures. ![]()

While those are absolutely gorgeous pictures....didn't you capture a crime in action? Opechee contains salmon and salmon season is closed so unless he had a bass-specific fly on that a salmon would never touch...I think that guy is out of season.
I know you could say "he was targeting rainbows" but that wouldn't fly if I was trolling Winni with flies or spoons and a CO stopped me and I said "oh, I'm not targeting salmon, I'm targeting rainbows". Here's where it gets confusing...if I was ice fishing, I can say "I am targeting rainbows" and be OK even if I'm catching salmon as long as I release the salmon before it clears the ice. Point being though...I think a Conservation Officer would probably not like what he is seeing in that picture. |

thanks Dan! I love learning something new. While I've never been on Opeechee...I assume boats can be launched there....so IF I put out trolling gear and stayed away from the dam, that would be legal???? Honest question...not "baiting" you.

I don't see why not. Opechee is clearly a year round trout lake and noted as such numerous times in the F&G rules book. They should have just recently stocked it with rainbows also... http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fish...king/fall.html There is also a nice launch! To be certain you may want to call NHF&G and find out about any other restrictions. Let us know what you find out. Good Luck! Dan |
