Post Weather.com

I have noticed that there are several threads on the storms that have been hitting various parts of the lake. Since I am temporally house bound, I have taken to watching the weather forecasts and weather channel. I discovered that by going to www.weather.com and downloading the desktop weather link I can watch the weather forecast for Wolfeboro (any zip code), get an hourly forecast and zero in on the radar. I have found these to be reasonably accurate.
If a storm is over Plymouth on the radar, it seems to hit some part of the lake.
It was obvious where the Moultonborough/Ossipee storm was going last week. I watched it in the distance follow the north/east side of the mountain. Yesterday the Belknap storm was on the screen on that side of the lake.
The hour forecast gives a reasonable account of when to expect the storms. Todays doesn’t help much since it is scattered t-storms all day and high temps. 2-4 o’clock.

I would love to be storm running in my boat. You have to do this safely by giving yourself plenty of time to get off the lake.

Default Here's another radar link

I like the "intellicast" weather link. I have mine set up for Alton Bay. here's the link:

http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USL...p&prodnav=none

When the "weather" is obscuring the map features, I click on the "range Marks" and the first mark on the 25 mile circle that is to the right of the "12 o'clock" mark is just about smack dab on top of Alton Bay. Also, the weather is basically real time, vs weather.com which seems to run 15-20 minutes behind time.

Give it a shot. Also, easy to watch tropical storm/hurricanes when they get wound up.

Of all of the on-line weather sites,I think the maps on accuweather.com are most usefull.I like the animated satelite/radar combo which let's you forecast your own area in the near future by watching the movement of the clouds and rain/snow.Check it out.If you click on NH you will get a closer veiw.http://wwwa.accuweather.com/radar-la...m=LOOP&type=RS

Default Zooming in

Thanks for the additional weather sites. Like the realtime feature of both intellicast and accuweather. I have a problem zooming in with detail on the lake. Is there a way to get the detail? I can use weather.com and actually see which side of the lake the storm is on. I realize that it is a delayed look.

WMUR's live doppler radar loop is pretty good, as well. You can access it at WMUR Live Doppler Loop.
