I've just seen an ad for a house on Bear Island. Where do islanders park their cars?

If you get a slip at a marina it will come with parking for at least one car. At Shep Browns there are two public docks and two parking lots. The paved lot at the water is public parking. Up the road there is another lot for trailers and cars. There is also a public parking lot at Cattle Landing that many people on the south end of Bear use.
There is a small conveinence store at Y-Landing marina, summer only. And public docks a few miles away in Center Harbor that are walking distance to grocery and other stores. |

You would park your car wherever you have a slip,or where you launch the the boat that will get you to the island.

I dock at Gilford and come across Saunders Bay over to East Bear. Its a longer boat ride by 5-7 minutes, but I greatly prefer that to a car ride thru the congestion of Meredith which can easily cost another 15 -on a good day... I use a valet service and have my boat launched each weekend. Works great and runs about half the cost of a slip. Parking is ample for boats and cars and guest with cars too big to leave at the boat yard !
