TI have a Raymarine A series unit that came with a used boat. There is a microSD navigation chip in it, but it is pretty much useless as it is not very specific to this Lake.
I am looking for advice - buy the Navionics chip or one from Bizer (assuming they have one that fits). The boat will only be used on Winnipesaukee. Thanks for any guidance. Last edited by Garcia; 07-14-2019 at 07:08 AM. |

The Navionics has the best chart for Winni that I've seen yet. It should run you $150.

Will it work in a Garmin handheld? Takes minisd. I use navionics in phone but the Garmin came with saltwater charts. Nice to have a separate device and not burn thru the Phone battery. Thx

I bought the Navionics chip. It’s very detailed and makes the Raymarine much more useful. I also downloaded the owners manual and am slowly figuring out what the device can do. I’m very comfortable navigating the lake without electronics (Bizet chart is essential!) but do like it. So far, the most useful feature is to plot a course from my dock to my destination and follow the course home - very nice to have when I’ve left home in the evening and returned after dark.

A Raymarine came with our newest boat but we did have to order the chip for the lake. We are very happy with it.

Navionics is owned by Garmin now so I am thinking you should be able to get their charts for a Garmin unit. I love the Raymarine Dragonfly 7 I have with the Navionics chart. Check out their website you can look at all their charts online and even plot out courses if you want.
