Default Governors Island

Hello everyone.

I am new to this site, but very familiar with Lake Winnipesaukee. I have a rather large favor to ask of anyone who is reading this and who is willing to help out.

When I was younger, our family (Jolliffe's) had a cabin on Governor's Island. It was named Blinkbonnie by my grandpa, Leslie Jolliffe. It was located on the peninsula of the island where you enter it one-way around a circle, kind of like a round-about. (I remember quite vividly when someone would enter from the wrong side and the whole neighbourhood would be waving their arms, telling people to turn around)

Our address was 63 Broadview Terrace. The Cabin was directly across from the old horse/storage lot. When I last saw it, the cabin was blue with light yellow trim around the windows. It had one of the best un-obstructed views of the lake. You could see timber island, rattlesnake.. bears and the witchs.

Since my youth, our family has had a rather tumoultuous seperation which is not important, but rather unfortunate. Our cabin was left in the wrong hands, out of our family and sold.

I realize this is kind of a heavy topic, lol, but believe you me I just need some piece of mind. I have fond memories of the lake and what it gave to me. I remember the lobster dinners at the clubhouse, my family (although extremely dysfunctional) all together, selling govenors island polo's. Fireworks. The beach. Where I used to aquanaut. Pardon me for the nostalgia.

Long story short, does anyone have any information about the new owners.. if its still there? Any photos? Does anyone remember us?

Thank you so much for your time,

Parker Jolliffe

Default new owners

If you go to the Belknap county deed website at:
http://www.nhdeeds.com/belk/web/start.htm
and search on your family name, you can trace the ownership of the property. I found the current owner pretty easily. Even though it is public information, I don't want to put his name here. Also it looks like somewhere along the way the address changed or your family owned two properties on the island.

I know someone that bought two houses on that end of the island and tore one down, but it doesn't seem to be related to your property.
