About 3" in Belmont just south of the Laconia line.
It may have been more, but the ground being warm tended to lessen what I was shoveling. |

At my house in Alton Bay, on the west side, we have about 4-5 inches of heavy wet snow. We're about 200 ft above lake level and just outside Sandy Point.

Turned on my new Heat Trak snow/ice melt mats first time. Enjoyed my coffee. Snow is gone. Life is good.

![]() Then, if I have any cash left over, I could consider my CT driveway - all 450 feet of it. That'll cost a cool $208,000. Course, I won't have anything left over for the electric. |

I did the same analysis as you Winilyme. Also decided that it wouldn’t be a prudent investment at this time (or ever??). However, I do have two doorways with swing out storm doors where the small mats might be beneficial. I can almost afford those!

When the sidewalks in Concord, NH were rebuilt three (?) years ago, they were all heated with tubing and antifreeze. Cheaper to run than electric for large spaces. A google search will yield several Canadian companies that make equipment for driveways. Salt, of course, is very hard on concrete as well as being an environmental hazard.

Guy in town had a heated driveway. Melted all the snow great. Water flowed down into the street and created a huge skating rink. Caused a couple of accidents. Town had to go to court for a cease & desist for safety reasons

Dec 25, 2021: 9:25-am; is 25-degrees and snowing straight down a sleety, medium heavy snow in Waterville Valley. Meanwhile, the http://whitemountains.tv/live-cam-no...ay-village-nh/ up in North Conway .... about 19.04-miles away by air miles ..... north east ..... shows little to no snow.
Driving the roads from Waterville Valley to North Conway is like driving half-way around the world, going from here to there because there's about seven miles of Mt Kangamagus and the White Mountain National Forest between Rt-49 and Rt-112 with no road. So, while it's 19.04 air miles distance, the shortest driving distance is 69-miles and 1 hour 40-minutes going by Routes 49-93-112-16. So's, the intelligent solution is to build a new road, by extending Route 49 up to Route 112 by going up what is now the single lane, dirt & gravel, Forest Service 100+ year old Livermore Rd. Livermore is an unincorporated township ..... aka a 'ghost town' with not even one resident anymore .... so build a road so's people can get up to North Conway much easier.
