Barred owl??!

Saw this guy as I was coming up my driveway the other day. Is it a Barred Owl?

Based on the drawing in “Peterson Field Guides” it sure looks like one!!

....We have quite a few that live near us. They have a very distinctive call...

"Hooo....Hooo....Hooo cooks for you...." The first two "hoos" are slightly spaced out, then the "hooo cooks for you" is quick.

Thanks. Slick, did you rotate outside or inside the app? I looked to rotate it inside but didn't find a way.
Interesting that we normally have a lot of hawks around but not lately. Think it's due to this fella?

Lots of ways but in my case right click on the original, copy, open in Photoshop elements, rotate image , save, then upload to the forum.

If you have the image on a PC you can right click on the image then select rotate right or left.
