Whilst moving a galvanized iron signpost, what should crawl out? Not one--but two--healthy crayfish. Welcome back!

One was on his way to becoming a "blue-claw". (old). The other, freshly molted, was only two inches long. They made a break for shoreline boulders, just three feet away.

Not really a surprise, the same iron post had produced a "blue-claw" four Septembers ago. (below). These signposts are the same you'll see at scrapyards, about four inches wide by two inches. (An iron 2"x4", with holes every inch). Make your own "crayfish condo".

Though the water was clearer than last month, I was visited by another rash below the knees.

My trusty triamcynalone acetonide "sorta" worked on my left leg and a trusty ammonium lactate "sorta" worked on my right--at least overnight. Could this be "duck itch"? Maybe.

It's a bumpy rash, different than my previous September experience--below--which might have been just a case of "dry skin".

Or maybe crayfish cause rashes?
