-6 degrees below zero this morning in Tilton! Winnisquam was starting to freeze nicely along route 3. No temps above freezing in the upcoming 10 day forecast...Winter is here!!

About time. It's been ages since we had more than a day or two in a row below zero.

It's been here for a month now, colder than normal and much colder than the past few years.

I'm with you. The plowing, and heating bills are not my idea of fun,. Bring on boating weather. AND As soon as possible. I vote for an early ice out.

Unhappy

The temperature during John F. Kennedy's inauguration on January 20, 1961, was 22 °F (−6 °C) at noon, with windchill making it feel like 7 °F (−14 °C). (Washington DC).

I was attending Wolfeboro's Brewster Academy on that Friday, when we had 3 days in a row of MINUS 30°...!

Cool ..... Dec 1 from central casting.

Here in central N.H. 2025, winter arrived overnight on Monday, Dec 1, when N.H. woke up to see the ground turned white with snow.

The definition of winter is white snow on the ground, and the ground goes from green-brown to all snow white and that happened on December 1.

As you move north up through Bethlehem and Colebrook, the ground turned snow white sometime in mid-November.

Right now, Dec 10, the weather is sunny, no wind and 50-below in the Town of Northway, Alaska which is 70 degrees colder than central New Hampshire. Where the heck is Northway, Alaska? ...... ...... Everyone in Northway, Alaska could leave town and fly from Northway Airport to Laconia Airport, 2700-air miles, for their warm New Hampshire winter ski vacation.
