A small committee is working together at the New Hampshire Boat Museum to bring the waterski exhibit to life.
We have great video, pictures- boats, jumps, national events, scrap books, badges, patches and trophies ( some ) from the 50's- 60's ... We have Weirs Ski Club History - Winnisquam Club - Looking for more information on the 70's - photos from the Weirs Marathon races --- a Maharajah ski to have on Loan? There were more clubs - Alton, Lake Shore Park We are working on audio Clips with memories of highlights, race teams, learning to ski, etc We have the Granite Cup coming to Wolfeboro Abenaki Club so we would like to share the history and current excitement and enthusiasm for this summer. We also have Great information on a ski school on squam -- If you have any thing from the 70's please let me know [email protected] |

These 2 photos were taken by a newspaper reporter at a ski show in the 1960's. The boat was owned by John Cooke, a summer resident at Sandy Point in Alton Bay. The guys did barefoot skiing for the show.

The NHBM also would like collections from the Championships held off Opechee Point in Laconia. Water ski jumping records were established and broken right here in the Lakes Region!
